The Beara Peninsula has long inspired artists with its raw beauty. This large group show features work from more than a dozen artists and represents the range of those working on the Beara Peninsula today — some born locally, some “blown-in” decades ago, and some arrived recently. Some are known internationally, some are local treasures.
Artists whose work is feature are Cormac Boydell, Amber Broughton, Finola Cooney, Sinead Cullen, Pat Fitzgerald, Tim Goulding, Barbara Kenneally, Frieda Meaney, Ida Mitrani, Danny Osborne, Nealie O’Sullivan, Jenny Richardson, Patsy Tyrrell, and Pawel Wroblewski.
The Drill Hall is on the east side of Bere Island. It is best reached via Murphy’s Ferry at the pontoon near the Castletownbere golf course. Once on the island, in Rerrin Village, walk past the Post Office and O’Sullivan’s pub up the road about 10 minutes. The Hall is a green metal building on the left just before P75 P978. A visit to Bere Island is a great outing!
