Oileán is a captivating photography exhibition showcasing the unique beauty of the seven inhabited West Cork Islands. Captured through the lenses of island residents’ phones, the images reflect the everyday magic of island life — from dramatic landscapes to quiet moments in favourite places.

Visual artist Tom McCullim conducted a series of engaging “Pocket Photo” workshops across the seven islands. These well-attended sessions sparked creativity and revealed the hidden photographer in many participants.

This inter-Island community project offers a platform for islanders to share their perspectives and celebrate the spirit of their home places. The result is a portrait of island life, created by those who know it best.
